Dr Janice Tung obtained her medical degree from the National University of Singapore, where she received the SS Ratnam Book Prize by the O&G Society of Singapore, for coming top of her cohort in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) as a student. She subsequently completed her post-graduate specialty training in the Singhealth Residency Programme for O&G, and attained her accreditation as a Specialist in O&G by the Specialists Accreditation Board (Ministry of Health, Singapore). Dr Janice is currently a member of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (UK).
Prior to joining the O&G Specialist Clinic, Dr Janice was an Associate Consultant of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Singapore’s largest women hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH). A keen and dedicated clinician mentor, Dr Janice was appointed clinical faculty of Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore. She received the Inspiring Resident-Educator Award (Singhealth) for her contributions to medical student and Residency education.
Dr Janice has extensive experience in managing a wide variety of gynaecological conditions and antenatal care, including high risk pregnancies. Her clinical and academic interests include subfertility issues, pregnancy-related complications such as venous thromboembolism and preterm labour, minimally invasive surgery and vulvar disease. She received the prestigious Singhealth Foundation Research Grant Award and the SingHealth Duke-NUS O&G Academic Clinical Programme (ACP) Grant Awards for her work on improving ovarian conservation in laparoscopic cystectomies, as well as labour induction and preterm labour. She has participated in numerous local and overseas conferences and workshops.
Dr Janice served as a member of the Taskforce for Transforming Pregnancy Care, ACP Residency Quality Improvement Committee and Patient Empowerment Thrust Initiative in KKH, participating actively in various quality improvement projects. She remains dedicated to providing a value-based, holistic, fulfilling and positive pregnancy experience for women as an Obstetrician, and the best care for her patients as a Doctor.
